The results of this year's competition are now available!
Congratulations to the winners and to all participants who made this year's KDD Cup such a success.
We will release the fact sheets that participants submitted in the near future. Look for these to be linked from
the full results page.
(1) To be eligible for winning the KDD Cup or ranking in the standings,
each team's leader must fill out a fact sheet and team composition form by June 14, 2010 at 11:59pm.
Both pages are now accessible as links to the right after logging in.
(2) Only the last submission from your team counts. We state this in the Rules
page but wanted to reiterate here.
(3) Given that we are small team, we cannot provide support for everyone up until the competition
deadline. Our guarantee of support: contact us before the final 24 hours of the competition and we
will get back to you.
(4) We've updated our FAQ with answers to 2 more questions.
The Rules page has been updated to state more clearly that if a person participates in multiple teams, those teams will be disqualified.
FAQ updates: descriptions of the challenge KC models, and some reasons as to why the number of steps for a problem often differs between students.
We've added a new section to the FAQ titled Known Noise in the Data. We do not intend to release new versions of the challenge data sets.
IBM Research has generously added $2000 in sponsorship.
Student prize amounts updated. See Rules page for more info.
Posted a .tar.gz version of the Challenge data sets on the Downloads page
Added SHA1 hashes to our FAQ for verifying the integrity of downloaded data sets. Also added an FAQ item describing row numbering changes in Challenge data sets.
Added a note to the Data Format page about row numbers in challenge files.
The challenge data sets are now available for download. Good luck!
It's almost 2pm EDT, but we're still preparing our challenge data sets for the competition. We will post an update here and send email when the data are ready for download, which will be by 5pm today.
