Publications about the project and web application. For papers linked to datasets, see the Dataset Info tab of a dataset in the web application.

To cite the DataShop web application and repository:

Please include the following reference in your publication:

Koedinger, K.R., Baker, R.S.J.d., Cunningham, K., Skogsholm, A., Leber, B., Stamper, J. (2010) A Data Repository for the EDM community: The PSLC DataShop. In Romero, C., Ventura, S., Pechenizkiy, M., Baker, R.S.J.d. (Eds.) Handbook of Educational Data Mining. Boca Raton, FL: CRC Press.
[PDF, 427 KB]

You might also cite our URL in the text of your paper:

For exploratory analysis, I used the PSLC DataShop, available at http://pslcdatashop.web.cmu.edu (Koedinger et al., 2010).

To cite a dataset for secondary analysis:

We encourage you to cite the dataset in the reference section of your paper, using this format:

Primary Investigator, Data Provider (date). Dataset name. Dataset dataset id in DataShop. Find it at http://pslcdatashop.web.cmu.edu/DatasetInfo?datasetId=dataset id

For example, to cite the Geometry Area (1996-97) dataset (which does not have a Data Provider), you would use:

Koedinger, Ken (1996). Geometry Area (1996-97). Dataset 76 in DataShop. Find it at http://pslcdatashop.web.cmu.edu/DatasetInfo?datasetId=76

In addition, you can determine if a citation or acknowledgement is given for the dataset you are using. Dataset-specific citation guidance can be found on the Citation page (Dataset Info > Citation) in DataShop.
